Reflections on Learning Inventory (RoLI)

In order to help us teach better, we are trying to isolate differences or sources of variability in the manner in which students think about, and reflect on, their own learning in [PLACEHOLDER1].
It would help us greatly if you could identicate your responces to the following statements, all of which are derived from students' own reported experiences. Please note that this is not a questionnaire. There are no questions asked of you here other than your gender, and, possibly your name/student number.

IN THIS DEMONSTRATION THERE IS NO NEED TO RESPOND TO THE STATEMENTS - JUST CLICK ON THE BUTTON AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE

This is NOT a test either. There are no 'right' or 'wrong' responses to the statements that follow. A response is only 'right' if it reflects your personal reaction and the strength of your reaction, as accurately as possible.

topConfidentiality

All responses will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Before beginning the inventory, we would ask you to formally record your consent to being involved in this project.
I acknowledge that my participation in this project is voluntary. I understand my responses will remain anonymous and confidential, and I give my permission for them to be used as part of the university's ongoing efforts to improve teaching and learning. Yes  No
This will be changed to suit specific requirements. Please enter your STUDENT ID number into this text box. If you are a continuing student your ID is in the form 9912345H i.e., 7 digits and a letter. If you are a new student your number will be in the form of 123456789 (nine digits)
Please indicate your GENDER by clicking on one of the buttons Female  Male

If the statement captures what you do, believe or think, in your studying of [PLACEHOLDER1]:

All of the time or nearly so; alternatively you definitely agree with it, then
About three quarters of the time; alternatively you agree, but with reservations, then
About half the time; alternatively you are undecided, then
About one quarter of the time; alternatively you disagree but with reservations, then
Hardly ever, if at all; alternatively you definitely disagree, then

So please note that in thus responding to the statements, and depending on how they are worded, things you actively do (e.g. the third statement) are more appropriately responded to in terms of how often you do them on average, while some statements refer to what you basically think or believe about something (e.g. the first statement) might be more appropriately responded to in terms of how strongly you agree or disagree with them.

There are 80 Questions in this last section. We confirm that all responses will be treated in the strictest confidence.
